About Me
I've been painting for eight years, beginning in Sydney and making my way down to Wollongong. I didnt know of Drag Kings until much later - instead, I got my start crossdressing doe a costume party & liked it so much, I did it again and again. It took a year to gather the courage to perform, and after a few gigs I went into hibernation until I was plucked out by a local Drag Queen & began a career as a Wollongong performer. This transformed into a producing role, more Sydney gigs, until now - on long service leave after. fabulous drag run. I say this to assure you that quiet months or years will not break a drag career, and a fabulous return to form can be more fulfilling and successful than your early work. My Drag style has always been quite referential, and at uts8best in front of a dyke audience. Early male impersonators that walked the line between man and butch are my style icons, but I'm no stranger to an ostrich feather & have become quite naked without rhinestones. Mostly I want to be read as a crossdressing woman - novelty ro men, sister yo women, sex symbol to dykes. I am a butch lesbian drag king, at one point afab, and my body does not resemble a masculine physique much at all besides my broad shoulders and height. My drag is about being unerringly masculine, succeeding in a transformative male illusion, and being sexy without resorting to feminine wiles. If this website infers opinions about how King drag should be embodied, it is because that is how I feel about my own drag. Any expertise I can relate is filtered through my relationship with my body, my experience in the drag scene, and my personal interests. Use discretion when applying my advice to your own drag career; if you have a different body, different interests, or a different style of King Drag, some of this stuff won't be of interest to you. As much as I could be a Drag Father to anyone, they would inherit the years of work I put into developing a specific brand of Drag, so that is what this website offers.
